Frequently asked questions
When should I take my child to a paediatrician for fever?
If a baby under three months has any fever, or fever lasts more than two to three days, is very high, or comes with fast breathing, fits, rash or unusual sleepiness.
Is my child’s cold or cough serious?
Most are viral and settle in a week or two, but fast or noisy breathing, wheeze or refusal to feed needs a check.
Why does my child feel weak and tired?
Common reasons are anaemia, poor diet, recent illness or low vitamin levels. A check-up finds the cause.
When is the first newborn check-up?
Usually within the first week after discharge, or sooner if there is jaundice or feeding trouble.
Do you give vaccines?
