Child Fever, Cold & Cough Treatment in Vanasthalipuram

Tissues and humidifier by a child's bed, child cough and cold care

Besides fever, cold and cough we treat common childhood illnesses and body weakness in children.

Fever, cough and cold are the most common reasons parents visit a paediatrician. Dr. V. Mounika Reddy examines your child carefully, finds the cause and explains what to do at home and when to return.

Why do children get fever and infections?

Most childhood fevers come from viral infections that settle with rest and fluids, but some need medicines or tests. Children can look well one hour and worse the next, so an examination helps separate a simple cold from an infection that needs treatment.

Come in urgently if your child has

  • Fever in a baby under 3 months
  • Fever for more than 2 to 3 days, or very high fever
  • Fast, difficult or noisy breathing
  • Refusing feeds, very drowsy, or hard to wake
  • Fits, rash with fever, or signs of dehydration (no urine for many hours)

How we help

We take a history, check temperature, throat, chest, ears and hydration, and decide whether tests are needed. We give medicines only when required, and explain fever care at home: fluids, light clothing and dose-correct medicine.

  • Careful examination and diagnosis
  • Treatment of cough, cold, throat and ear infections
  • Advice on fluids, diet and rest
  • Clear signs to watch for at home

Recovery and aftercare

Most children recover within a few days. Give plenty of fluids, let them rest, and return if fever persists, breathing worsens or your child is not drinking.
