An ingrown toenail or a hard corn can make every step painful. Dr. K. Praveen Reddy treats both with simple, safe procedures that bring relief, and gives advice to stop them coming back.
Why do ingrown nails and corns happen?
Tight shoes, cutting nails too short or curved, injury, and sweaty feet are common causes. Corns form from repeated pressure. In people with diabetes, even small foot problems can become serious, so early treatment matters.
See a doctor if you have
- Pain, redness or swelling at the side of a toenail
- Pus or discharge from the nail fold
- A corn that is painful or bleeding
- Numb feet or diabetes along with any foot wound
- Recurring ingrown nails
How we treat them
Mild cases are managed with cleaning, dressings and nail care advice. Persistent or infected ingrown nails may need a short procedure under local anaesthesia to remove the problem part of the nail. Corns are trimmed and the cause is corrected.
- Examination and infection check
- Minor procedure under local anaesthesia
- Corn removal and foot care advice
- Footwear and nail-cutting guidance
Recovery and aftercare
Most people walk the same day. Keep the area clean, change dressings as advised and wear roomy footwear until healed.
